The wave of faith in U.S. assets is fading, and foreign capital is starting to think about where to go next. At the same time, Trump is saying that they shouldn't leave and should just stay by investing differently
Absolutely. I am just expanding on this in a note on the back of the Section 899 note in the Big Beautiful Bill. Team Trump are saying 'don't recycle your SWF $'s into our financial markets. It pushes up the value of the $ and extracts 'rent' from the US economy. You can invest in real assets that benefit the 99%.
Almost sounds progressive if you squint. Curious how much of it is economic strategy versus political signaling. What do you think the markets are hearing?
By the way, the research about the mainstream media being "92% against him in his first 90 days" mentioned by the The National Desk comes from the Media Research Centre, an American conservative content analysis and media watchdog group - not really unbiased in their analysis
Thanks for the comment Max. Trump has said on numerous occasions that his aim is for anybody earning less than $150k to pay no income tax, with the difference being made up by tariffs. I also mentioned this in the latest monthly where he was fact checked on this to say he needed $600bn. So it’s something the Dems are very aware of.
On the Media bias, of course the source will be partisan, but with respect that isn’t really the point at was trying to make. The fact is that CNN, MSNBC, the NYT etc hate Trump and the feeling is mutual. This is hardly news, except that the Drug companies are huge clients of the MSM TV stations in particular and I was noting that even though the real villains in Drug pricing are the PBMs, hitting the Pharma companies is a nice side benefit from Trump’s point of view.
I try to focus on what I think he will do (and is doing) as information for investors to consider rather than say what I think he should do. It’s the same as when I write about China, political spin and propaganda is fine so long as you see both sides.

where do you see anywhere that Trump and his administration want to "take 90% of US tax payers out of income tax all together"?
